CHAPTER TEN

The script said: Bacchanalian orgy at Lady Shulamith’s mansion in the Garden District of New Orleans. Sexy cops Kylie and Pat arrive, expecting a crime scene. “We’re good,” s/he told Penn and signaled the talent who were sitting in deck chairs on an Astroturf mock-patio drinking coffee and writing new lines for themselves.

Penn had been amazed to Þ nd out from the guy playing Lady Shulamith’s humiliated slave that this was normal. Porn movies of yesteryear had minor plots and actors worked with a script.

These days, they only got a few lines scrawled on a piece of paper. Most tried to improve upon these as they went along.
